THE Indians are one win away from completing a memorable sweep over the Yankees – and you can be sure we’re riding with them.
There is no reason to stop believing in this Cleveland team right now after they’ve won 35 of their past 39 games.
The Indians will send Carlos Carrasco to the mound, and the Yankees could be in for a tough night against the form right-hander.
Carrasco finished the season with a 3.29 ERA on an 18-6 record, but has given up no more than one run in six of his last seven starts. In his last six starts he went 6-0 with a fantastic 0.85 ERA.
He has been just as impressive on the road this season, going 11-2 with a 2.65 ERA. That record only getting better in New York where he is 3-1 with a more than enable 1.40 ERA in his four career starts.
The Yankees will counter with the inconsistent Masahiro Tanaka who ended the season with a 13-12 record and a 4.74 ERA to match.
In his four career starts against Cleveland he is 1-2 with a 4.63 ERA – although he did not face them this season.
While he has improved as the season headed towards it’s climactic finish there is definitely a gulf in class between the pitchers and consistency will be the key in this one.
Cleveland are full of confidence after escaping Game 2 with a W and it’s impossible to go against a team that has everything falling for them at the moment.
The Indians will certainly progress and our projections are giving them a 71% chance of doing so with a sweep.
Take the road team to close it out as they etch towards going one better on last season.
