College basketball: Northern Colorado v South Dakota

WE are absolutely streaking to start the NCAAB season and look to stay hot with our bet of the day.

The Coyotes are off to a strong 5-1 start to their season, which includes going 3-0 against the spread so far.

They’re averaging 84.5 points per game on offence and are shooting at 51.4% from the field.

Perhaps their most impressive so far this season however was a five points loss to TCU as 17.5 point underdogs. Matt Mooney has shown himself to be an absolute handful on offence and his ability to find ways to score makes him a tricky matchup for opponents.

Their ability to push the ball in transition and find easy baskets has been a catalyst for their run this season, but they’re now coming up against a team that will slow the pace and force them to execute in the half court.

The Bears are doing a good job defending the perimeter – holding teams to 31.1% from beyond the arc – but that won’t do much against a South Dakota team that only averages 19.2 three-point attempts per game.

Meanwhile, Northern Colorado rank in the top 25 in the country dating back to last season for three-pointers attempted per game (25.8) but the issue is they’re only hitting at 27.9% and South Dakota are only allowing teams to shoot at 32.4% from downtown.

The points total seems unusually high given the expected pace and defensive efforts that both these teams will likely present.

The Bears have seen 15 of their last 17 games played at a neutral site stay Under the points total, including three of their four games played this season.

The Coyotes last match up with a team that managed to slow them down (TCU) and force a half court game led to a comfortable Unders with a similar total. Our projections have this one staying Under almost 71% of the time, which gives us a strong lean in this one.

Tip: Under 153.0 points @ $1.90
