College basketball: Stanford @ Ohio State

THE Buckeyes will look to bounce back from a disappointing loss to Gonzaga and should like their chances against a flailing Stanford team.

After starting the season at 2-0 the Cardinals have since gone 1-3 and sit at a measly 1-5 against the spread in that span.

Their blowout loss to Florida re-emphasised the team’s struggles on the defensive end of the court, which doesn’t bode well when coming up against a side averaging 79.6 points per game to start the year.

Ohio State we completely shut down by Gonzaga and their inability to hit from deep cost them dearly in a lopsided loss to the Bulldogs. Luckily for them the Cardinals defence is a far cry from that of Gonzaga.

Stanford is allowing teams to shoot a whopping 42% from beyond the arc, which is something that could see this one get ugly again for Stanford should they Ohio State start making the buckets they missed last game.

Injuries aren’t helping the Cards at the moment either and we don’t expect them to be able to compete with the likes of Keita Bates-Diop inside the paint – especially if their emphasis will be to stop leaking points on the perimeter.

Ohio State owns a strong advantage on the boards here to go with their and they also own a much stronger zonal defence that, prior to that matchup with Gonzaga, had held it’s opponents to just 63.75 points per game.

We love the price we’re getting for Ohio State here, especially given our data is showing the Buckeyes winning by almost double-digits. Take the small line while it’s still available.

Tip: Ohio State Buckeyes -3.5 @ $1.88
