Hire cleared to face Kings

PERTH WILDCATS vice-captain Greg Hire has been cleared to play against Sydney Kings tonight after his striking penalty was reduced to a one-game suspended sentence.

Hire was cited for striking by the NBL’s Game Review Panel after it appeared he made contact with the face of Cairns Taipans import Tony Mitchell as the two got tangled under the basket.

The news will come as a huge boost to Perth who need to win both their upcoming games to secure their 31st consecutive trip to the post-season.

The home side are short-priced favourites to take care of the free-falling Kings tonight, who need a win to give themselves any chance of finishing in the top four.

While the inclusion of Hire won’t have a vast impact on the market there’s no denying his addition is a huge boost for the home side.

We love the Wildcats in this position and have backed them to cover the line¬†against Andrew Gaze’s men – in fact, they’re still our tip to challenge Adelaide 36ers for the NBL Championship.

This news will only bode well for punters and we recommend throwing the Wildcats into any possible weekend multi’s you’re currently eyeing off.
