Monday Night Football: Week 9

A Bengals no-show offensively cost us a sweep yesterday but we’re still riding high in the NFL this season.

All eye now turn to Wisconsin where Detroit head to Green Bay to take on the Packers.

It’s now or never for the Lions as they look to snap one of the worst road records in the NFL.

The good news is they won’t have Aaron ┬áRodgers to deal with in the pocket, although they should expect an improvement from Brett Hundley under centre.

Hundley got plenty of help on the ground last time out but did help the Packers to posting 17 points against a tough Chicago defence – one that ranks better than today’s opponents.

A week off will have given Hundley time to familiarise himself with this offence and while we expect them to once again lean on their rushing game to help ease the load their backup QB should have far more success throwing in this one.

Detroit meanwhile know what they have in their QB, with Matthew Stafford doing everything in his power to topple the Steelers last week.

Stafford threw for over 400 yards against a very good defence and should have no problem finding yardage against this Packers secondary.

The issue for Detroit is their non-existent ground game that in turn makes their offence very one dimensional.

The good news for punters is that it means far less wasted clock when betting on the Overs.

While many will avoid going Overs in a game like this there’s a lot to like about the total here.

With both teams pass-first offence’s coming up against sub-par pass defence’s there’s certain to be plenty of opportunity for long range TD’s.

Red zone offence will be key to sending this one over the total and Detroit’s desperation should result in a lot of conversions when inside Green Bay’s 20.

The Overs has cashed in all five of Green Bay’s last five against teams with a losing record, and is 4-1 in their last five at home to teams with a losing broad record.

Four of the past five meetings between these sides have gone Over the points total – don’t be swayed by the absence of Rodgers in this one, the result may change but the points will remain.

Tip: Over 41.0 points @ $1.80 (Ladbrokes)
