NBA best bets: Friday, 1 December

WE continue to stay red-hot this week after another win took us to 6-0 on the week.

Now it’s time to continue that momentum ahead of a big weekend.

Here’s our best bets of the action ahead:

Cleveland Cavaliers @ Atlanta Hawks

The Cavs seem to have finally figured things out on both ends of the court.

They look in rhythm offensively and finally look like the solid defensive team we knew they could be.

One man who has benefitted greatly from the Cavs offensive structure is swingman J.R Smith, who seems to finally have some rhythm to his jump shot.

Smith started the season terribly, and while it’s a little early to say he’s turned a corner he has certainly shown signs of life again in the starting line up.

His points total is still at a very friendly line given bookies aren’t adjusting until his season average picks up, which will take time given the number of 0-6 point outings he’s put together this season.

In his last three starts however, Smith has comfortably scored in double-digits and is taking far more shots then he did during the Cavs barren run.

In fact, in his last six road games, he has gone over his points total five times with the only exception being at Brooklyn where he only had four shots.

The number of attempts is key to Smith hitting this line but we’ve seen him become far more active on offence in recent games – he’s attempted 32 shots in his last three games.

He average 9.5 points for the month of November and we expect him to continue with that number in this one. Take the generous total on offer and if he gets his shots off he’ll easily eclipse this number.

Tip: J.R Smith o/8.5 points @ $1.75 (Crownbet)
