WE bounced back well with our College Football tips and now we’re ready for a big night ahead.
Here’s our best bets for the action ahead:
Wisconsin @ Illinois
The Badgers are looking to go 8-0 on the season and continue to quietly impress with each passing week.
This is a perfect matchup for the road team as they take on an Illinois program that is struggling on both sides of the football at the moment.
The Fighting Illini own the worst rushing defence in the Big Ten – currently allowing 210.7 yards per game on the ground. That doesn’t bode well when coming up against a player who leads the division in rushing yards this season.
Jonathan Taylor has rushed for 1,112 yards and 11 touchdowns on the season already and should feast on a defence that will allow plenty of space for him to exploit at the line of scrimmage.
Taylor has scored a rushing TD in all seven games so far, and has all notched up 200+ yards in a game on three seperate occasions.
On the other side of the ball, the Badgers own one of the best secondaries on the country and currently have 10 interceptions on the year. Couple this with the fact that Illinois have thrown 12 interceptions and rank outside the top 100 in the country for yards per carry and you have an absolute mismatch all across the park.
Wisconsin have covered the line in their last eight straight games on the road and we’re leaning heavily on them to do the same again here. Our data is showing them covering almost 70% of the time against a woeful Illinois team, who has covered just once in their last seven conference games.
Wisconsin have dominated this series for almost a decade now, with the Badgers also covering the line in four of the past five meetings between the sides.
Take the road team to continue their dominance on the year in what should be a lopsided win.
Tip: Wisconsin -26.5 @ $1.92 (1.5 units)
Louiseville @ Wake Forest
Lamar Jackson will take his team on the road against a Wake Forest team that simply couldn’t keep pace with the Cardinals a year ago.
While this one will certainly be a closer game than the 44-12 scoreline that was produced last time these sides met there’s still great value on the visitors here.
The advantage here is in Jackson’s explosive speed outside the pocket, and his dual-threat means there will be plenty of opportunity for him to both run and throw for big yardage.
Wake Forest currently rank 87th in the country in run defence and are allowing 182.7 yards pre game on the ground.
While the Demon Deacons are evidently an improved defensive outfit they will struggle to halt this Cardinals offence given their reliance on their pass rush defence. It’s almost a non-factor when playing Lamar Jackson and his quick feet and ability to buy himself that extra time in the pocket means his receivers will get time to find space downfield.
This is likely to become a shootout and if that does eventuate than our money is firmly on Louisville to do their part here. The line is far too short given what our data is projecting and we’re recommending punters pounce now before it begins to blow out.
Almost 80% of tickets are on the Cardinals line in Vegas and it’s only a matter of time before our online bookies catch on. We have Louisville covering almost 68% of the time here and have a good lean given the small line.
