Thursday Night Football: Week 7

WE’RE rolling along nicely as we edge towards the midway point of the NFL season and our attention now shifts to Oakland for the start of Week 7.

The Raiders will host the recently defeated Kansas City Chiefs as they look to capitalise on the visitors recent shortcomings.

After being the last undefeated team in the NFL the Chiefs finally suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of the inconsistent Steelers.

It was comfortably their worst performance of the season on both ends of the ball, and the fact they were in the contest until the end against a talented team is testament to how good Andy Reid’s side really is.

A trip to Oakland on short-rest isn’t easy but this is a team they’ve dominated in the past, and should continue to do so here.

The Chiefs have won the last five straight meetings between the two teams and won all those meetings by at least six points. In fact, they’ve managed to cover the line in 11 of their past 14 visits to Oakland.

The Raiders are in desperate need of a win, having lost their last four straight and failing to cover in any of those.

The team is struggling to generate any offence at the moment and are clearly hurting without a fully fit Derek Carr to help lead the way. After starting the season well offensively they’ve averaged just 13.5 points per game in the following four games.

Marshaun Lynch has been a major part of those struggles but he could enjoy some success against a team that ranks near the bottom of the league in defending the run.

The big news for the visitors is that Tyreek Hill will play after passing a concussion test, which will likely help shift this market above a field goal before kick off.

Over 70% of public money in Vegas has gone on the road team and that will likely see a lot of sharp bettors come in hard on this line while it still sits at 3.0.

We’re expecting a big response from KC in this one and have them covering almost 68% of the time on the road. We have them being at least a TD better than their opponents overall and we don’t see the short turnaround accounting for those spare points here.

Take the line early in this one.

Tip: Kansas City Chiefs -3.0 @ $2.02
