Wimbledon: Day 2

HERE’S our best bets for Day 2 at Wimbledon:

Bernard Tomic v Mischa Zverev

Despite being one of the most unpredictable players on the tour when it comes to giving 100%, we can’t go past backing the Aussie on his favourite surface.

Tomic comfortably beat Zverev just last week 6-3, 6-2 in just under an hour at Eastbourne.

Zverev’s serve and volley game provides exactly what Tomic wants, a target to pass – and while it’s a risk backing the Aussie we are in his corner for this one.

Our projections show him wining 64% of the time, giving us great value here.

Prediction: Tomic @ $1.88

Milos Raonic v Jan-Lennard Struff

Despite an early exit at Eastbourne to Thanasi Kokkinakis, Raonic didn’t face a break point in that match such was the dominance of the Canadian’s serve.

Last years runner up will have way too much firepower for the German in this one and we expect Raonic’s power game to prove too much to handle.

Take the 3-0 option here as Raonic makes light work of his lesser opponent, who hasn’t traditionally fared well on grass.

Our projections show him winning comfortably, giving us a strong play on a straight sets win.

Prediction: Raonic 3-0 @ $1.80

Jeremy Chardy v Tomas Berdych

Both men possess giant serves so expect these two to play out a number of tie-breakers.

On paper, you would take Berdych in this one but the Czech has had a mixed year with no form that would make you back him with any confidence.

Expect the Frenchman to keep this one close and potentially snare a set, so the +6.0 handicap is very appealing.

Our projections show this one comfortably eclipsing the 36.5 game total as well and we’re going to double down in this one.

We’ll stake 0.5 units on each, but if you’re leaning one way or the other take the Overs here.

Prediction: Over 36.5 games @ $1.95 & Chardy +6.0 games @ $1.87
