Fantasy NRL: Parramatta Eels v Newcastle Knights

THE Knights and Eels take part in today’s only NRL game and as always the boys from NRL SuperCoach Talk are here to bring you all your DFS needs.

If you’re yet to sign-up to PlayON, you can do so here.

Parramatta v Newcastle

HB – If the defensive records of these sides are anything to go by, then this should be a fairly open and free-flowing game. Watson ($11.7m) has been in good form recently and is worth a look, but Cogger ($6.3m) I think is the value play here, as he could easily outscore all the other options for only half the price, and the Eels have given up the second most SC points to HB’s so far this season.

FWD – The Knights love giving up SC points to front-rowers, and the Eels love giving them up to second-rowers. Alvaro ($16.7m) has been a beast lately, the only risk here being if he loses minutes with Brown potentially being a late inclusion.

Fitzgibbon ($19.3m) and Guerra ($17.9m) look the goods for the Knights this week – if you go slightly cheaper in the HB and OB positions you should be able to spend up large in the FWD position. Takairangi ($13.8m) could be worth a look as well – refer below. Terepo ($11.4m) looks value also.

OB – I love playing Ponga ($18.2m) and even after the head knock last week he should go large against the Eels. G Jennings ($10.4m) churns out the bases stats and could also get some attacking points v the Knights, with the up and down SKD ($14.4m) probably due for an “up” week, however he would be a risky play. Newcastle has given up the most SC points to CTW this year, so M Jennings ($16.8m) will be a lock in my team, and could really wind the clock back if given half a chance.

NOTES

I am actually really looking forward to this game, and hoping there is a lot of attack on offer. There are a couple of value plays and then some really good match-up’s, based on the data available. Just remember it doesn’t always pan out in line with what has previously happened!
