A nice 2-0 day has got us off to a bright start for the week as the MLB continues to be our cash cow.
Here’s our best bets for the action ahead:
Washington Nationals @ Philadelphia Phillies
The Nationals, for the second game this series, are being severely undervalued by the bookies in this one. Washington is preparing itself for a strong playoff run and they’re sending out one of their form pitchers in what should be another strong outing from Gio Gonzalez. The right-hander has enjoyed his time pitching against his former club, owning a 10-6 record with an impressive 2.60 ERA to match. In his two appearances against them this season, Gonzalez has allowed just three runs in 14 pitched innings. His opposite, Jake Thompson, is 0-2 in his career against the Nats – owning a 4.87 ERA in that span. With the home side scoring just seven runs in their last four starts, and Gonzalez currently on a tear at the mound, this could be a straightforward win for Washington as they aim to beat their single-season record for wins. Let’s not forget that Bryce Harper may also line up for the road team as well. Our projections have Washington winning 74% of the time, making the odds of >$1.60 far too good to pass up.

Houston Astros @ Texas Rangers
The Astros are already planning for the playoffs but could be in for a tough night against a man who has proven to be their kryptonite in recent years. Cole Hamels has owned Houston of late, going 5-0 against them in his time in Texas. The left-hander is 7-3 against the Astros in his career and owns a 3.78 ERA against them in his 15 career outings against them. Houston meanwhile will send Dallas Keuchel (13-5, 2.96 ERA) out the the mound for what will likely be his last showing of the regular season. The Astros ace is 2-1 against Texas this season, posting a 3.38 ERA to match. Expect a strong showing from both pitchers in this one, and with Houston also likely to be without Jose Altuve we could see far less runs than we did in the 11-2 win. Our model is projecting a combined 6.9 runs giving us a huge lean on the Unders.
