MLB Daily Dime: Thursday, 13 September

OUR Daily Dime MLB play is ready for all our followers to cash in on.

Arizona Diamondbacks @ Colorado Rockies

The Diamondbacks will look to continue to chip away at Colorado’s slender lead atop the NL West as the team’s resume their four-game series at Coors Field.

Patrick Corbin will get the nod for Arizona at the mound and he’s enjoyed a successful career pitching against the Rockies so far.

The left-hander is 8-3 in 18 starts against the Rockies, including 1-0 with a 3.60 ERA in two starts against them this season. In fact, Arizona has won 14 of Corbin’s last 17 starts against their division rivals and are 10-3 in their last 13 visits to the rocky mountains.

Corbin has been terrific recently as well, even if his record doesn’t quite show him to be. He’s gone 3-1 in his last six starts and owns a very impressive 1.88 ERA in that stretch.

Meanwhile, Jon Gray will need to improve his control at the mound for Colorado if he’s going to give his side any chance of pulling out the W. Despite going 4-0 in his last 10 starts his control has been an issue as shown by the fact he walked five batters in his last start against the Angels.

Gray is 2-3 in his career against Arizona, owning a 4.98 ERA against them. Those numbers are even worse at Coors Field where he is 0-2 with a 6.23 ERA in three starts.

Colorado have lost 64% of their games this season when home underdogs by the bookies and we’ll ride that trend in this one and take the better pitcher on offer.
