NBA best bets: Saturday, 13 January

WE continue to hit road blocks in this season’s NBA and as such we’ll continue with our small plays until the All-Star break.

Here’s a look at our top plays for today’s action:

Memphis Grizzlies @ Denver Nuggets

This is an intriguing match up across the court, but one area that we see a clear advantage is inside the paint.

The Nuggets defence has done a terrific job of managing without All-Star forward Paul Millsap. The likes of Mason Plumlee and Kenneth Faried have provided the energy and hustle to accomodate for his absence, particularly on the defensive end of the court.

While the Grizzlies strengths still lay firmly inside the paint with Marc Gasol and JaMychal Green it’s clear this isn’t the same team as they were under David Fizdale.

Green has been rocks and diamonds for most of the season and hasn’t been able to find the same level of consistency as he had last season.

Since returning from a recent injury, he has gone Over his points total in 50% of his games – and we feel that after putting up 20 points in his last start this is another let down spot for him.

Our projections show him falling Under the 11.5 total available on him and with Denver possessing a lot of big bodies in the paint, and Green’s shooting not hitting with regularity, this number should cash with ease.

This simply isn’t a good match up for him and the Grizzlies don’t have enough points in them to share around the team and have everyone cashing in. Take the Unders as our only play for today.

Tip: JaMychal Green u/11.5 points @ $1.80 (Bet 365) (1 unit)
