NBA best bets: Sunday, 26 November

WE continue to be frustrated by 1-1 splits but things will change and luck will even itself out.

Here’s our best bets for the action ahead:

Orlando Magic @ Philadelphia 76ers

The Magic are in free-fall early in the season and its hard to see them halting that in the second game of a back-to-back.

What does help is having your opponents missing their most influential player.

Ben Simmons has been a huge catalyst in Philadelphia’s revival this season and while Joel Embiid has done a lot to lift his game it’s hard to see how he’ll be as effective without the Australian on court.

Frank Vogel needs to do something to stop this skid, and after getting blown out in Boston yesterday they’ll get a great chance on the road against a team they’ve enjoyed visiting in recent years.

Orlando’s road record does still make for good reading statistically – the team is 7-4 against the spread when playing away from home and are 4-1 when the line sat between +4.5 and +7.5.

While there’s not much to like about the Magic recently the value on offer given the absence of personnel for the 76ers makes this a huge value play.

Not only is Simmons set to miss this one – the home side are also likely to be without Richaun Holmes Nik Stauskas and Justin Anderson once again, as well as the mysterious absence of Markelle Fultz.

Orlando should enjoy more respectable shooting numbers than a lot of their starters saw in Boston against the league’s top defence and we feel the bookies simply haven’t accounted for the numbers properly here.

The Magic have won 14 of the last 17 meetings in Philadelphia, and the underdog has covered the spread in the last four straight meetings in this series.

The road team has also covered eight of the last 10 here, while Orlando are also an incredible 22-10 against the spread in the last 32 meetings with Philly. Grab the points for the road underdog here as they snap out of their funk against a Simmons-less 76ers team.

Tip: Orlando Magic +6.0 @ $1.95 (Bet365)

Note: Celtics will be added IF Victor Oladipo is ruled out

Boston Celtics @ Indiana Pacers

We’ll keep this short but Victor Oladipo has been ruled out, and while the Celtics will be short-handed without Marcus Morris and Jaylen Brown the loss of Oladipo is far bigger for a Pacers team that doesn’t have the same level of depth.

Tip: Boston Celtics @ $1.74
