THE Wildcats started their title defence in strong fashion last week as they easily disposed of Brisbane at home.
They’ll look to maintain that level of play when Illawarra head to Perth Arena.
After sweeping the Hawks in last year’s final the Wildcats will be eager to continue their dominance over Illawarra.
Bryce Cotton put on the best display in NBL finals history the last time he took to the court against the Hawks and you can be certain he will be looking forward to coming up against them again.
Illawarra showed their ability to hit from distance last week and will look to Rotnei Clarke to once again spark their offence off the bench.
Perth have won 27 of the past 28 meetings with the Hawks on their home court, a record we can only see improving after tonight.
They won last season’s finals series by an average of 11 points and while their offence is an obvious threat their ability to shut down Illawarra’s shooting was what stood out most in that series.
We’ll keep this write-up short but we have a strong lean on the home side to cover here. We’re projecting Perth to win this one 84% of the time while covering the spread 70% of the time.
Tip: Perth Wildcats -5.5 @ $1.90
