TWO of the hotter teams in the NFL will kick-off Thursday Night Football as the Carolina Panthers take on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Steelers continue to flex their offensive prowess at home, but have again shown a vulnerability to leaking points at the same time.
Three of their four home games have sailed Over the point total and we don’t see this one swaying from that trend. In those three games, they’ve scored 33+ points in each while allowing an average of 26.6 points.
They now have to try and contain a Panthers offence that looks as potent as ever behind Cam Newton, with Ron Rivera finally having the perfect combination of running and passing to help his QB thrive.
The biggest question mark for Carolina is whether they can put their best foot forward on the road, but they’ll take a lot of confidence from their past couple results.
The team has racked up 99 points in the last three weeks; averaging 388.8 yards of total offence and 6.6 yards per play in the process.
Meanwhile, Pittsburgh’s offence has hit its stride as well lately. The Steelers are averaging a mammoth 432.3 yards of total offence per game in the same period – they’ve also averaged 28.0 point per game in that stretch.
This number shifted early from its opening and we’re going to get on now with a lot of money being detected on the Overs recently. The Overs is 5-1 in Pittsburgh’s last six home games, and has also cashed in four of the last five meetings between these sides.
